Kids Castle Learning Center consists of teachers as well as assistant teachers. According to DCFS regulations, all teachers employed with Kids Castle Learning Center must have at least 30 college credit hours with 6 hours of early childhood and one year of experience working with children or 60 hours of college with 6 credit hours of early childhood. Also, assistant teachers working in the center must be at least 19 years old and have their high school diploma or GED.
In addition to the education, Kids Castle Learning Center makes CPR and First Aid mandatory for all employees. A CPR refresher course is required every two years. The staff is also trained to safely and effectively clean and care for all wounds and for bodily fluids. Latex gloves are used by staff at all times when cleaning all bodily fluids, changing diapers, as well as any type of wounds.
Also, DCFS required that all staff members participate in at least 15 hours per year of in-service training and workshops. Training is provided through Community Childcare Connection, NAEYC, Public Health Department, and the day care director.
Kids Castle Learning Center’s teachers go above and beyond. They not only teach the children what they need to know they make learning fun. The teachers get together and share ideas about different ways to get the children involved during the learning process. The interaction between the teachers and students is phenomenal. The teachers at Kids Castle Learning Center have a passion for what they do as well as the children in their care.
